Árni Thór

Born and raised in Reykjavik, Iceland,  Arni Thor Jonsson early on got involved into film-making by helping out at his father’s production company. Before blossoming into a director, he worked as an editor and assistant cameraman. He is the one of the founders of Republik. Arni has directed hundreds of commercials for clients like Jeep, Walgreens, Behr, Audi, Sony, McDonalds, Walmart and Ikea, all over the globe. In addition he has directed award-winning music videos, for the likes of Damien Rice and Hjaltalin to name a few.  He is currently working on numerous long-format projects, including a feature film and TV series. 

When Jonsson was a civilian, he was previously an influential radio host, music journalist and a bass player in a garage band. He still keeps up a music blog. Arni Jonsson spends his time between Iceland and Los Angeles, where he currently resides with his family and petting zoo. Occasionally riding his motorbikes, driving his Land Rovers, making models and bicycling the Hollywood Hills.
